FAQs

Where are you located?


Cozy Oven Cake Shop is not a storefront bakery. I operate from my independent kitchen in Downtown Toronto (Bay & College Street). I'm Food Handler Certified in the province of Ontario, Canada.




How far in advance do I need to place my order?


The earlier the better. I’ll try my best to accommodate every order, but ultimately I’m only one person. Placing your order at least 1-2 weeks in advance would be ideal. Any order placed in less than 5 days is considered a rush order. A rush fee may apply to create your cake in time for your event. Buttercream cakes with fondant decorations will require at least 1 week notice. Buttercream cakes will require at least 3-4 days notice.

When is the final balance due?


The final balance is due 7 days prior to pickup. A reminder will be sent if the balance is not received at this time. Failure to pay following the reminder may result in the order being cancelled and the deposit being retained as compensation for equipment purchased, ingredients used, and time spent on the order.




What is your cancellation policy?


I require a minimum notice of 7 days prior to pickup and 30 days for weddings. Your 50% deposit is non-refundable. No refunds will be provided for orders that are cancelled with less than 7 days notice due to costs incurred by the initiation of an order.




What if I want to make changes to my order?


Any changes made to your order within 7 days of collection may incur a surcharge, depending on the change requested. In most cases changes can be accommodated, however there are times it will not possible. However, I will endeavour to accommodate you to the best of my ability.




What are your payment methods?


Payment instructions are found on the invoice. Payments will be made via e-transfer to cozyoven@gmail.com.




Do you use nuts in your products?


Some products contain nuts or nut extracts. My baked goods are made in one kitchen, and may not be suitable for those with nut allergies.




Do you offer gluten-free options and dairy-free options?


Sorry I don't currently offer gluten-free and dairy-free options.




How do I serve and store cupcakes/cakes?


Buttercream covered cakes, naked cakes and cupcakes should removed from the fridge and brought to room temperature prior to serving (about 1-2 hours). More time is needed for larger cakes. Cupcakes/cakes taste best at room temperature when the buttercream is soft. Leftover cupcakes or cake slices can be stored at room temperature or in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days. When refrigerating, store in airtight containers to prevent leftover cupcakes or cut cake from drying out. Please let it sit on the counter till buttercream is soft before consumption.




Do you deliver / Can I pick up?


DELIVERIES: Deliveries within Downtown Toronto are available for multi-tier cakes only. Delivery starts at $55. If you are unable to pick up, I'll also be happy to coordinate curbside delivery through Uber or other external cake delivery services. PICKUP: Pickup will be around Bay and College street. A map with pickup location, information, and tips will be sent after full payment is received or when requested. You can safely transport chilled cakes and cupcakes in the boxes provided. Please keep your car temperature cool, buttercream cakes are more stable when cold. Please place cakes on a flat, level surface such as floor of passenger seat. Drive carefully and be cautious when going around turns and bumps.

How do I secure my order?


After design details & pricing is agreed upon, an invoice with your order summary will be sent.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order. Order is only confirmed after the non-refundable deposit is received. If an order is made within 7 days, full upfront and non-refundable payment is required.
